Best Places to Retire in Oregon for 2021

Thinking about retiring in Oregon? With its diverse landscapes and vibrant communities, it can be challenging to pick the best area to settle down. Coastal towns, charming cities, and mountain views all have their appeal, but how do places like Ashland and Bend stack up?

Ashland is known for its rich arts scene and lovely parks, making it a great fit for those who enjoy community events and outdoor activities. Meanwhile, Bend often attracts outdoor enthusiasts with its stunning natural surroundings and an active lifestyle. Has anyone spent a significant amount of time in either of these locations? What do you see as the upsides and downsides of retiring there?

I’d love to hear personal experiences or suggestions about other lesser-known spots in Oregon. What should someone keep in mind when choosing their retirement destination?

I’ve spent some time in Bend, and while the outdoor scene is amazing, the cost of living can be pretty steep. Ashland has a great vibe with its artsy community, but I found it a bit quieter than I expected. Have you looked into places like Lincoln City or Hood River? They’ve got a unique charm too!

If you’re into a quieter vibe, don’t overlook a place like Brookings on the southern coast. It’s got beautiful beaches and a chill atmosphere, plus it’s often less crowded than bigger cities. Just watch out for the rainy season—it can get pretty gloomy!
