How do you find the perfect hobbies for retirement?

Choosing hobbies in retirement can be a bit daunting with so many options out there. Some friends are enjoying gardening, while others have immersed themselves in art or cooking classes. This variety makes me wonder about the best way to pick activities that are truly fulfilling.

For those who have successfully navigated this process, how did you go about selecting your hobbies? Did you stick with past interests, or did you venture into new experiences? With choices ranging from learning an instrument to volunteering or blogging, it would be great to hear your stories. What tips or insights can you share about discovering rewarding activities?

I think trying a mix of old and new is key. I went back to painting after years and then jumped into hiking, which I never thought I’d enjoy. You never know what’ll click until you give it a shot!

I found it helpful to start with stuff I always wanted to try but never had time for, like pottery and photography. I also joined a local group to meet people and get inspiration—some of my best hobbies came from what others were doing. Just trying things out helped me figure out what really clicked!
