Recommendations for Painting Classes in Tampa?

Since I retired last year, I’ve found myself with plenty of free time and a strong urge to learn something new. Lately, I’ve been considering taking painting classes in Tampa to tap into my creative side. However, with so many options out there, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed and unsure about which classes might be worth my time.

If anyone has taken painting classes in the area, I would love to hear your recommendations on studios or instructors. What should I look for in a class to ensure it aligns with my interests and skill level?

Any tips or personal experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated!

I took a few classes at the Tampa Arts Center last year and really liked it! The instructors were super supportive and they offer classes for all skill levels. Definitely check if they have an open house so you can see the studios and maybe meet some teachers before committing.

You might want to check out the art studio on Central Avenue; they have some great beginner-friendly classes. I took one there last summer, and it was super relaxed and fun. Just make sure the instructor gives you enough feedback, that’s key to growing!
