Top Retirement Spots for Upper Middle Class Families

Choosing the perfect retirement destination can be quite a challenge, particularly for upper middle class families seeking a balance of comfort and community. Many are drawn to areas that offer both affordability and a diverse range of activities. Have you explored places like Asheville, North Carolina, or Sarasota, Florida?

These locations are known for their vibrant communities and numerous social events—key factors for staying active during retirement. What elements are you focusing on in your search: safety, community engagement, or perhaps local amenities? I’d love to hear your perspectives!

Asheville is a great choice—lots of outdoor activities and a great arts scene! If you’re also considering amenities, check out areas in Arizona like Sedona; beautiful landscapes and plenty of walking trails. Community engagement is key, so I’d recommend visiting a few places to see how the locals are.

I haven’t checked out Asheville, but I’ve heard it’s got a cool arts scene and lots of outdoors stuff. I’m really looking for places with good healthcare options and nice parks since we like to be active. Sarasota seems great too, but I’m not sure about the cost of living there. What are you finding about those areas?
